I am starting this group because I know there are other writers in the northern Monmouth County area who are looking for an outlet to share their work, a chance to engage in writing workshops, and the opportunity to meet and network with other writers. This group is open to any and all kinds of writers engaged in all genres - from professionals, freelancers, hobbyists and creative dreamers.

Welcome to Staten Island writers! Meetups will start with a writing prompt which members will have 20 or so minutes to write. They will then be read, but this isn't obligatory. Afterwards, we will review someone's writing and take turns offering them constructive feedback. Members can either bring in copies of their writing or upload it in the files section so others can review it prior to the meetup.

This is a group for anyone interested in fiction writing. Until the group is well establish a group we will start by a short writing exercise followed by an hour of writing.
