Sisters in Crime (SinC) is an international organization founded in 1986 to promote the professional development and advancement of women writing crime fiction. Patterned after the Royal Academy of the Arts, ASoIA is a vehicle for attaining fame in one's chosen field. Artists/Sculptors, Poets/Writers and Architects need a venue for displaying their works, and this is it. Only those devoted to their craft, the few with the energy required to attain the pinnacle of success are invited to join. "Not easy, not cheap, not attainable without hard work" is the group's motto, as is "the Best Art, always, no compromise."

We are WRITERS who believe in the ART and the CRAFT of poetry.  We acknowledge  there is a time to be solitary and a time to bring our work to the light and to audience.  We are interested in reading and publishing and finding larger audiences as well. We share new work, giving and recieving helpful feedback from colleagues.  We ask for honest helpful critisism and an acknowledgement of standards. By gathering we strive to create community and opportunities for performance and publication.
